In 2010, the Mountaineers stepped foot on their new state-of-the-art Women’s Soccer Training Facility. The training site features the same custom, natural grass surface as the game field at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.

The women’s soccer practice facility, located across from Dick Dlesk on Monongahela Blvd., features a 75-by-120 yard natural turf field. A complete water drainage and irrigation system exists on the new site. There is also additional space for goalkeeper drills and player warm-ups to avoid extensive use of the playing surface.

Four towers outline the fields with lights that can illuminate game-field conditions.

In October of 2011, the Mountaineers stepped foot in their new state-of-the-art facility that houses a custom players locker room, coaches office space, players lounge with kitchenette, athletic training room that includes a hydrotherapy pool, hall of honor, equipment and apparel storage rooms, and public restrooms.

This first-class soccer facility further demonstrates West Virginia University’s commitment to excellence in women’s soccer.

Women’s Soccer Locker Room

In the fall of 2012, WVU completed its renovation of the current women’s soccer locker room, including a 300-square-foot expansion. New ceramic tile along with shower facilities, new restroom sinks, counters and stalls were installed in the bathroom.

The centerpiece of the renovation is custom made solid oak lockers housing individual player stools. Ample space is now available with a dressing area for practice and games.

A player’s lounge area was also constructed. New carpet, lighting, graphics, LCD television, and a custom video system and screen were also part of the package, as was a three-station computer area. The area has become a daily home for women’s soccer players before class and after a match on the weekend.
