Take the Star City/WVU (mile marker 155) exit and follow signs to West Virginia University, heading south on US 19 and across the Star City Bridge. Go through one traffic light and the Basketball Practice Facility will be on the left of the WVU Coliseum.

Take the Pierpont Road (mile marker 7) exit and follow signs toward the football stadium by heading West on to WV-857. At second traffic light, turn left (south) on US-119. Drive up a steep hill; the Morgantown airport will be on your left. Continue straight until the traffic circle, where you take the second right on to WV-705 West. Turn left at the seventh traffic light on to Van Voorhis Road. The road becomes Patteson Drive when crossing University Avenue. Proceed up Patteson to the light at Jerry West Boulevard. Go straight at the light into the WVU Coliseum parking lots and the Basketball Practice Facility will be on the left of the WVU Coliseum.

In February 2012, West Virginia University opened the $24.1 million, 64,000-square foot Basketball Practice Facility, allowing both the men’s and women’s programs to continue to reach new levels of success on and off the court, while honoring past achievement and tradition.

Split down the middle, the Basketball Practice Facility is symmetrical in that the men’s side is a mirror image of the women’s side. The only shared areas include the Hall of Traditions, a center conference room, the weight room, equipment room and training room. The facility was designed with easy access to each court from the locker rooms and athletic training room.

The facility, which is located West of the WVU Coliseum at the Red Gate, is equipped with:

Robinson/Petroplus Hall of Traditions

- Trophy and artifact cases that celebrate the history of men’s and women’s basketball incorporated with interactive touch screens, a theatre and displays to celebrate the timelines and history of each program

Central Atrium

- 14-foot high definition video board with a ribbon board

Gymnasiums

- Equipped with one and a half courts
- Gatorade Stations
- Treadmill locations
- Ipod docking stations
- Flatscreen TV with playback functions

Locker rooms

- Equipped with 15 lockers, which were modeled after LeBron James’ locker when he played with the Cleveland Cavs
- Each locker is equipped with its own power supply and a shoe tower that holds seven different pairs of shoes
- Players’ lounge with kitchenette suite, flat screen televisions with surround sound and computer stations

Athletic training room

- Underwater treadmill
- Hot and cold pools

Theater

- 103-inch television with smartboard capabilities
- Seating for 25

Weight room

- Fully equipped dumbbell rack with weights from 5-150 pounds
- Two cable pulley systems
- Various upper and lower body machines
- Two neck and grip machines
- Various training equipment including: kettlebells, chains, trap bars, log bars, farmers walks, atlas stones, physioballs, medicine balls, sandbags, jump boxes, ropes, and bands
- Cardio equipment including: Treadmills, stairmaster, and versa climber
- Gatorade hydration station
- Flatscreen televisions
- Built in Ipod dock and satellite radio

Offices and conference rooms

- Glass walls allow natural light
- All office rooms and conference rooms are equipped with flat panel televisions
- Staff offices overlook the court
- Video coordinator offices have camera balcony overlooking court
- The head coach suites include a three-way fireplace, lounge, outdoor terrace and balcony overlooking the practice court

Equipment room

- Equipment room stocked with team gear
- Mobile storage with a caster-equipped system
- On site industrial size washers and dryers
