1955 honors: Helped lead the Mountaineers to an 8-2 record and No. 17 UPI ranking and No. 19 AP … finished with 420 yards on 73 carries, averaging 5.8 yards per carry … had six catches for 59 yards … ran back three kicks for 23 yards … scored three touchdowns … part of a WVU rushing attack that ranked No. 6 nationally in rushing yards per game, averaging 263.9 yards per game and was No. 2 in total offense, averaging 384.5 yards per game … led Southern Conference in scoring, averaging 28.5 points per game, total offense and rushing.

1956 honors: Helped lead WVU to a 6-4 record … earned All-Southern Conference first-team honors … led the Mountaineers in rushing, registering 584 yards on 124 carries, averaging 4.7 yards per carry … had one catch for six yards … scored four touchdowns … ranked No. 42 nationally in rushing yards … led the Southern Conference in two-year rushing totals … scored winning touchdowns against George Washington and Texas.
