Played in 68 career games, starting 46 of them … finished his career with 689 points, 178 rebounds and 97 assists … averaged 1.9 points as a sophomore, 10.3 points as a junior and 14.5 points as a senior … averaged 10.1 points for his career … started 18 games as a junior and 28 games as a senior … scored a career-best 32 points against No. 6 Duke on Feb. 6, 1965 at Cameron Indoor Stadium … WVU went 23-8, 18-10 and 14-15 during his career … team won two Southern Conference tournament titles and one Southern Conference regular season title during his career … played in two NCAA tournaments.

Played a couple of pro seasons of the then-American Basketball League.

Scored 1,358 career points for Point Marion/Albert Gallatin High. His 687 points as a senior led the entire state, and he was a three-time All-County and two-time All-State selection.

Named to the Fayette County Sports Hall of Fame in 2014

Wife Brenda, children Buddy Jay (former basketball start at Washington & Jefferson) and Lori (started on WVU’s women’s basketball teams in the 1990s). Owned Point Marion Ford from 1970-2012.
