Collegiate: Captain of the 1954-55 basketball team, the first of the late Fred Schaus’ six years as a head coach … played in 70 varsity games, scored 746 points (10.7 average), and amassed 561 rebounds … had 73 career assists … averaged 15.8 points and 12.0 rebounds as a senior … averaged 10.4 points and 6.1 rebounds as a junior … played two years under Red Brown … had a career-high 29 points against Pitt on Jan. 29, 1955 … had a career-high 27 rebounds against Pitt in that same game, the fourth most in a game in school history.

Sports Awards/Honors: Served 42 years on the WVU Foundation Board … received Order of Vandalia … graduated from WVU in 1955 … also received a master’s degree … commissioned as a first lieutenant in the United States Air Force

Personal: Wife Jo of 57 years (as of Jan. 2013), daughter Anne White is a retired professional tennis player who won numerous championships, son Brad is in the insurance business with his father.
